Rock and Record
July 7- July 11
Ravenswood Music Academy and Mystery Street Recording Company are teaming up once again to bring back the wildly successful "Rock and Record" camp. This camp will not only have the campers in a brand-new rock band by the end of the week, but it'll also allow the campers the opportunity to learn how to professionally record their music. All the rockers from ages 7-12 will have the opportunity to try singing, guitar, ukulele, and drums, and together the band will learn one or two rock songs by the end of the week. The band will also gain hands-on experience with real recording equipment, learn techniques for capturing sounds, and understand how audio engineers use these skills to bring movies/ video games to life. At the end of this camp, the parents will all receive a professional recording of the song(s) that the band learned during the week, so you can play your rocker's awesome music on repeat! Rock and Reimagine
July 21- July 25
In this new and innovative camp, the students will be rocking out while also creating their own marketing materials and outfits for their rock show. Together the campers will explore singing, guitar, ukulele, piano, and drums by learning some classic rock band songs. The students will utilize their creativity and imagination by inventing their band name, hand dying and print screening their band t-shirts, producing promotional posters for their final Friday performance, and by designing their band logo. The crafting part of this camp will be led by our expert mixed media artist, Carina Hoyer. At the end of the week, the band will perform 2-3 band songs for their families at our 300 W Lawrence location. Spots are limited so click the link below to sign up today!
